In 1946 Don José A. Gonzalez began the production and purchase of Arabic coffee in the high areas of the southern region of Ecuador, a well-known region for the high quality of its coffee beans.

In 1976, Don José Gonzalez, together with his family, founded "EXPORTADORA E IMPORTADORA GONZALEZ C. LTDA., dedicated to the export of green coffee in their main qualities.

PROCAFÉ was born for the development of special and organic coffee beans, in certified farms, always having as priority the well being of the ecology and the environment. The farm that produces "The Old bourbon" variety stands out from among all of these farms, this variety was presented to the rest of the world with great pride under "the Galapagos Coffee" brand.

Having in mind the desire of satisfying world market demands, INTERCAFÉ co. has begun a project that includes toasted and semi - toasted coffee, instant coffee and private brands as well.
